A chemical peel improves the appearance of the skin on the face, neck, décolletage or hands. A chemical solution is applied to the skin to chemically exfoliate the skin revealing clearer, smoother regenerated skin.
At London Real Skin we offer NeoStrata glycolic peels, NeoStrata Clarifying peels and the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance.
Why Obagi Blue Peel Radiance Chemical Peel?
The Obagi Blue Peel Radiance Chemical Peel is a non-invasive, gentle chemical facial peel designed to improve skin appearance without any down time.
Using a combination of salicylic, lactic and glycolic acids applied to the face, neck, décolletage or hands this Obagi peel can help the skin become tighter, smoother and appear brighter.
The peel will improve skin tone and texture helping to minimise skin ageing by targeting fine lines, and photo damage and reducing pores.
Why NeoStrata Clarifying Peel or NeoStrata Glycolic Peels?
The NeoStrata Clarifying Peel is a combination of 30% mandelic acid and citric acid and is suitable for oily and acne-prone skin.
The NeoStrata Glycolic Peels contain 20%, 35% or 50% glycolic acid and are designed for patients with multiple skin concerns including rough texture, fine lines, wrinkles, dry skin and irregular skin pigmentation. Higher strengths can also help to reduce the appearance of acne scarring and certain pigmentation problems.
Both NeoStrata Clarifying Peel and NeoStrata Glycolic Peels work by providing carefully controlled removal of surface skin cells, stimulating skin renewal to improve the appearance of the skin. Immediately after treatment there is a noticeably improvement in skin texture.
During your initial consultation for £25 our experienced Medical Aesthetician will assess your skin and medical history and discuss your goals with you. The Medical Aesthetician will recommend a treatment plan for you depending on your skin type and goals. They will advise on the most suitable peel or combination of peels, the number of treatment and duration between treatment, and skincare to give you the best results. A test patch will be applied.
When you return for your peel the treatment will last about 30 minutes with no downtime so you can return to work post treatment.
There may be some minor skin peeling 2-5 days after treatment. Good results are seen after one treatment although we would recommend 3-6 treatments, once every 2-4 weeks for best results.
• Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 7 days and use sunscreen SPF50+ at all time during the course of treatment.
• Avoid hot water and saunas for 7 days post treatment.
• Avoid exfoliation and skincare products including acids or retinoids for 7 days pre treatment and post treatment.

Does a Chemical Peel Hurt?
You may experience a mild heat sensation during the peel but with minimal discomfort. This will subside and be neutralized as part of the treatment.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
For best results we would recommend 6 treatments scheduled 2-4 weeks apart.
How Does a Chemical Peel Work?
Chemical peels chemically exfoliate the skin. They are used to remove the top layer of damaged surface skin cells; this reveals fresh cells that are smoother and brighter. The treatment also stimulates cell turnover and encourages collagen and elastin production in the deeper layers that plump up skin.
